David Shaw
A previous computer science professor at Columbia University, David Shaw is the founder of D.E. Shaw, which manages over $50 billion in assets. Though he is still involved in higher-level strategic decisions in directing the investment management ventures, Shaw is more focused now on being chief scientist at D.E. Shaw Research, a computational biochemistry research firm he founded in 2001.
