Technical indicator that characterizes prices of a commodity or financial instrument and/or volatility over time

  • Use a formulaic method developed by John Bollinger in the 1980s
  • A break below or above the Bollinger bands can indicate that something fundamental has suddenly changed and may indicate a bull or bear market
